Aplerh-Doku Borlabi, born in Ghana in 1987, initially explored academic painting before finding authenticity in working with organic materials. Using coconut sheath to depict figures' skin, he fuses culture and identity. His work resonates with themes of beauty, identity, and pride. Borlabi's art has been showcased in major galleries in Brussels, New York, and London. In 2022, his piece 'Coiffure' went to auction at Sotheby's London.
